After 25 years you'd think it would be safe to go back in the water. But no! The original JAWS returns bigger and badder than ever. Police chief Brody (Scheider) is settling into his new job on the tourist island of Amity. Unfortunately, his quiet summer is disrupted by the appearance of a very big and very hungry shark. Marine biologist, Hooper (Dreyfuss), is brought in to assess the situation. Realizing the job requires a professional, they hire a crusty old sharkhunter who goes by the name of Quint (Shaw). The trio head out to sea, hoping to put an end to the shark before it puts an end to them, and to Amity's all-important tourist trade.

Steven Spielberg's classic beachfront thriller has managed to stand the test of time. An involving cast and Spielberg's knack for drawing us into the heart of the action turned JAWS into a nail-biter that still delivers. And this anniversary release adds an extra punch - along with the cleaned-up, digital transfer of the movie, we're also treated to an in-depth look at the creation of the blockbuster.
* Robert Shaw, who plays Quint, came up with his own monologue about the sinking of the USS Indianapolis. Unfortunately he got the date wrong. The ship sank on July 29th, 1945, not June 29th.
* A fisherman bounty hunter in a blue windbreaker is seen climbing into the same boat three times during the same scene.
* The number of yellow barrels on the Orca are inconsistent with the total number used during the course of the climactic ending.
