CineSight Comments, Trivia & Bloopers

The real reason to watch JURASSIC PARK isn't for great human performances but for the super-realism of the dinosaurs. These extinct animal 'actos' put on a great show, totally dominating their island home and Steven Spielberg's movie. The disc contains a crisp, clear transfer with a choice of Dolby or DTS surround sound to give the rex's voice that extra knuckle-whitening quality. The featurette focuses mainly on the complex integration of the computer-generated dinos and their life-sized counterparts. My biggest disappointment was with the trailer for JURASSIC PARK 3, which showed so little that it could hardly even be called a teaser, never mind a trailer.

* William Hurt was originally offered the part of Dr. Alan Grant, but turned it down without reading either the novel or the script.

* The velociraptor egg hatching scene originally involved a baby triceratops.

* In the first draft of the screenplay, park owner John Hammond was left on the island.

* The robot arm magically disappears after holding the hatching egg steady.

* When electric cars stop outside the t-rex paddock, they are dry. A few moments later, as Malcolm and Grant look out the side window it is wet, even though the rainstorm hasn't begun yet.
