Who are the Men in Black? A top secret government agency who are the 'last, best and only line of defence against the scum of the universe', that's who. Whilst tracking down an especially nasty alien bug (D'Onofrio), Agent K (Jones) recruits a new partner - a street-smart New York cop (Smith). All traces of his identity and existence are erased and he becomes simply 'J'. As the bug's plan takes shape, it becomes clear that earth will be caught in middle of an intergalactic war unless J and K can stop it.

Director Barry Sonnenfeld's quirky sci-fi comedy adventure has become something of a cult hit. The combination of startling effects, Jones' ultra-dry wit and Smith's wisecracking humor constribute a continual straem of surprises. This 2-disc set includes numerous features focusing mainly on the movie's style and complex effects. One of the best goodies is the editing workshop, where the viewer gets to piece together 3 scenes from a variety of shots, using the remote control. Then you can compare your 'cut' to the original. Fun stuff.
* Chris O'Donnell was first offered the part of J.
* Known aliens being monitored at the MIB headquarters include Sylvester Stallone, Danny DeVito, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and MIB director Barry Sonenfeld.
* As the aliens leave earth with their bags packed, they sing an unintelligible song which was actually from the BBC TV show "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".
* Edgar's shotgun disappears after he puts it down in the morgue.
* When J and K shoot down the spaceship, they switch places a couple of times.
