CineSight Rating ***

Agatha Christie's famous Belgian detective is on a plane from Paris to London when a passenger is murdered. Unfortunately, Poirot (Suchet) was asleep at the time. Upon arriving in London, Poirot's old friend, Chief Inspector Japp (Jackson) is assigned to the case. Suffering the indignity of having been caught napping at the cruxial moment (and Japp's wry comments about Poirot being a possible murderer), the Belgian sleuth vows to clear his name and solve the mystery. The list of suspects includes such disparate characters as the cabin attendants, a dentist, an archaeologist, a mystery writer, a duchess and her maid. Who among them could be responsible for a death in the clouds?

CineSight Comments

David Suchet (EXECUTIVE DECISION) is the definitive Poirot, perfectly portraying the mannerisms and idiosyncrasies of the eccentric sleuth. This full-length feature mystery made for TV manages to capture the fading elegance of the British Empire. And Agatha Christie's story keeps you guessing until the last moment (as usual). Sound and picture transfers to the disk are both clean and extra features include a biography of Suchet as well as background info on Christie. I just wish they had included some behind-the-scenes footage on the making of the excellent Poirot series.
